Little known fact to most of you probably, but my great aunt Evelyn McHale (my maternal grandfather's sister) jumped off the Empire State Building in 1947 and landed neatly on a car below. A photographer snapped her picture, which made its way to LIFE magazine. Andy Warhol later created a print using the picture as well.

I remember sitting looking through the Life book with all the famous pictures and seeing this picture in there and being fasinated with the story and my relation to the picture.
