Donnelly at nine months

Our Irish gelding, Slew O'Diamonds (aka: Donnelly), is growing like a weed. Here's a picture of Mike with him right at nine months old. I think he looks sort of like a basketball player at the moment, tall and lanky. But, we are really starting to be able to see the beautiful horse he'll grow into. He's also greying out more and more. The new tail hair growth is white as snow. We thought it would take several years of being dark slate grey before he started turning lighter, but it looks like it will happen much sooner than that. I'm anxious to see what he looks like in three more months at a year old. His breeder, Candy, said to expect to see a big growth spurt in the spring. Donnelly is already catching up to my mare, Savvy, quickly. It won't be long before he towers over her. Lucky for us, he's completely a gentle giant.
