Donnelly's Injury
Sunday night I turned Donnelly and Savvy out in the back pasture to stretch their legs and enjoy the nice weather. Monday morning when I went to move them to the barn for feeding, Donnelly was limping off his right rear leg. We got a hold of our vet and trailered him up for x-rays. We were hoping he had just twisted his ankle, but the x-rays showed a small fracture in his ankle. The vet recommended we keep him stalled and limit his movement in the short-term, and he referred us to an orthopedic specialist at Texas A&M to go see. We are waiting on a call back from him to set up an appointment. No telling how he managed to hurt himself, but he has jumped out of his stall 3 times and over the back fence once. So, he may have aggravated it one or all of those instances and then finished it off Sunday night. Who knows?? Luckily we have him insured to help with any pending medical costs, but we are worried sick for him to be OK. Please keep him and us in your prayers.
