On the weekend's when she's available, we've been taking my mare, Savvy, up for training at Windy Knoll Farm with local dressage guru, Fran Dearing. Savvy has been progressing really well. We started out just doing ground work in the roundpen, then Fran got up on her and rode her walk, trot, canter. Then, Mike and I started riding her walk, trot, canter in the roundpen. Yesterday, we moved outside of the roundpen to the open arena where all three of us rode her. Now that we have her going forward for the most part, we have to work on her steering. Hopefully before long, Sarah and Savvy will be able to start showing!
